AI for cardiac imaging

Research applying machine learning and automated analysis to cardiac MRI has sought to improve measurement speed, consistency and clinical risk prediction. The role of AI is framed as decision support with clinical oversight.

National quality and service responsibility

As clinical lead for the National Audit of Cardiac Rhythm Management, Dr Bhuva helps monitor and improve the quality of device and ablation procedures across the UK. Further service work includes digital remote monitoring and non-invasive cardiac radiotherapy research.

Relationship to patient care

Innovation is valuable when it changes access, safety or judgement.

Research credentials are not used to imply that every patient needs an advanced test. The practical value is the ability to understand complex evidence, explain uncertainty and recognise when a newer pathway can solve a real clinical problem.

Dr Bhuva remains an active clinical cardiologist with a regular cardiac-device practice. His research, grants and national roles support that clinical work.
